Transition to school
Developing skills for a strong start.
School readiness skills for preschoolers
Our program revolves around play-based learning and is a living, evolving, collaborative process incorporating the voices and ideas of children, families, educators, visitors, early childhood theorists, sector pedagogy and research.
Play allows children to develop at their own pace, and to discover the world around them in a style that connects with them individually. We aim to develop all of the abilities required for a successful transition to school. We focus on encouraging social skills, resilience and self-regulation of emotions. We spend time helping children recognise their own needs, as well as the needs of others. We also introduce students to literacy, numeracy and science, all the while fostering an excitement for learning. Our children are able to regularly participate in shared experiences with the wider College community.
Transitioning comfortably
Preschoolers enjoy music classes, sports days, and library and classroom visits.

Community
Our members
Members of the College community also visit us for events, enabling an increased understanding of community and a smooth transition to school process.
Our transition to school model is integrated throughout our entire program.
